It’s largely a remix of the earlier teaser, adding different music and a slightly altered, but equally laconic voice-over, which introduces us to the various characters and storylines that populate this very theatrical-looking latest effort in Allen’s London-based film set.
Heavy on the musings about love, marriage and the probability that psychics and mediums are a load of old cobblers, it’s an ensemble piece starring Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin (in the traditional Woody neurotic writer role), Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Gemma Jones and Freida Pinto. As the various couples fight, split, switch and complain about their lives, we can but hope that this lives up to Woody’s better films.
You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger is scheduled to arrive over here later this year.
