After a long, painful gestation period, it was finally looking like a third Bad Boys film – known as Bad Boys For Life – would actually hit that magical production point. But after losing Joe Carnahan and its release date, it's been back on shakier ground. Now one of its stars, Martin Lawrence, is wondering whether it'll ever actually happen.

"I don't think we’re going to get one, not the way everything's turning out," Lawrence tells Entertainment Weekly. "Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it's going to happen."

Lawrence, however, seems prepared to head to the set this minute. "I'm there, I'm ready right now," he says. "If they wanted to do it, I'm ready, but I don't have control of that. That's the studio's decision."

And that's the crux of the matter – Martin Lawrence doesn't have the controlling opinion on whether the movie happens or not, and we're sure the company will want to have it out at some point. Part of the problem, of course, is co-star Will Smith's schedule – he's typically busy, this time with Guy Ritchie's Aladdin. So for the time being, detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey will have to keep on waiting.
