He's about to be back on our screens in his capacity as Dr. Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, but Mark Ruffalo has a very different project in mind for a new small screen job. He's attached to star in I know This Much Is True for HBO.

Derek Cianfrance will write and direct the limited series – much like Big Little Lies or the various seasons of True Detective, which adapts Wally Lamb's 1998 bestseller. It's an epic family saga that explores the American identity through the story of twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey as they chart their lives in the latter half of the last century.

Ruffalo will play both brothers, and the actor has been wanting to bring this story to the small screen for a while now, working with Lamb on the idea, which they'll produce along with Cianfrance.

As for Thor: Ragnarok, the wait is nearly over, and the movie will arrive in UK cinemas on 24 October.
