The Mandalorian: Season 2

After a year trapped mostly inside, the thing we could all do with is a trip back to a galaxy far, far away – and never fear, because The Mandalorian Season 2 is not far off. The small-screen Star Wars show on Disney+ is back at the end of October with a whole new set of episodes, continuing the adventures of Mandalorian not-so-lone wolf Din Djarin, and his adorable companion The Child (or, as everyone has dubbed him, Baby Yoda). In less that two months, we’ll see what the dynamic duo have in store for them – and first up, we have a bunch of fresh images to pore over.

Here, we have the return of Mando himself, plus Carl Weathers’ Greef Karga, and Gina Carano’s Cara Dune. But enough about that lot – the star of the show is back! Look at Baby Yoda, his ears still the soft pink of a Tattooine twin sunset, his eyes black as the blade of the darksaber, decked out once again in his tiny space-desert-chic coat. Our hearts are melting all over again.

Ok, ok, enough about Baby Yoda (for now). Here we have a fresh look at Giancarlo Esposito’s menacing Moff Gideon, last seen wielding the darksaber in the final seconds of Season 1, and sure to wreak more havoc for our heroes. Speaking of which, there’s Mando on a speeder bike – and look who’s riding shotgun(ish) in a little pouch on the back! Hang in there, little guy. Finally, the Banthas are back – here’s a shot of one being ridden by a Tusken Raider.

There’s nothing too revelatory here image-wise, but it’s thrilling even to get a first glimpse at the incoming new episodes. After such a gripping first run, fingers crossed for an even more exciting and confident Season 2 – and all the new Baby Yoda merch it's sure to bring. The Mandalorian Season 2 begins on Disney+ on 30 October.
