The vampires are gathering quickly now that Bill Condon is getting ready to start shooting the final Twilight Instalment(s) Breaking Dawn. And not all of them are moody and heroic: Taken**’s Maggie Grace has signed on to play the driven Irina.

A member of the Denali coven, which shares a close tie with the Cullens because they’re also “vegetarian” vampires who refuse to hunt and feed from humans, Irina is sent to help them in Breaking Dawn.

Trouble is she’s, is harbouring vengeful feelings against them because Laurent (killed by the werewolves in New Moon) had been her mate. So when she spots Edward and Bella’s daughter Renesmee, and mistakenly assumes she’s an immortal child – i.e. a human child turned into a vampire, which is forbidden under fang club law thanks to their unpredictable natures – she goes running to the Volturi and brings all hell down on the Cullens’ heads. Oh, and then the rest of her clan refuse to help in the fight against the ancient law keepers.

Condon is gearing up to kick off shooting the films in November. Grace, meanwhile, also has space thriller Lockout with Guy Pearce on her schedule and will once again play Liam Neeson’s daughter in Taken 2. Perhaps this time *he’ll *get kidnapped and she’ll have to save him?
