There is a lot we still don’t know about Star Trek Beyond. Its plot, for one thing, which is sort of refreshing. But casting news is harder to keep quiet and therefore word has arrived that Lydia Wilson has joined the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Actually, scratch that. While Variety reports that she’s aboard the film, there’s no actual news on what she’ll be doing on the set. Could she be a Starfleet officer helping Kirk and co. out on their mission? Or will she be a thorn in their side, much as it appears Idris Elba will be (and we don’t just mean as in the charity video below).

Simon Pegg (who returns as Scotty) and Doug Jung have written the script and Fast & Furious veteran Justin Lin is busy wrangling a cast that as usual includes Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin in Vancouver right now. They’re joined on this one by Elba, Joe Taslim and Sofia Boutella.

Wilson, probably best known on TV for shows such as Ripper Street and Misfits, and as Kit Kat in About Time, has also worked in indie romance Love Is Thicker Than Water.
