Yet more casting shunts for Tate Taylor’s new film. We’ve already had to embrace the idea that Chris Evans won’t be part of the cast, but now Jared Leto fans are going to be disappointed that he’s dropping out due to a timetable clash. Still there is a fine replacement stepping up, as Luke Evans is joining **The Girl On The Train{ =nofollow}.

Erin Cressida Wilson wrote the screenplay from the much buzzed-about book, which drew comparisons to Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl for its narrative. We’ll caution that even the basic synopsis might be considered a spoiler, but read on if you wish… The story follows a recently divorced woman called Rachel (Emily Blunt) struggling with her life and sinking into alcoholism to try to cope. She spies a seemingly perfect couple from her London train ride every day and starts to fantasise about their lives. But things take a turn when she sees something shocking…

Evans is the latest replacement for a cast member – Justin Theroux recently joined to take over a role that Chris Evans would’ve played had he made a deal. They join the likes of Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Edgar Ramirez and Allison Janney.

Taylor’s crew is picking up steam as they start shooting in New York for an October 7, 2016 release in the UK.
