Luke Evans Now In Talks For Fast Six

Last week, the team over at Twitch heard that Luke Evans was considering a role in Fast Six, but hadn’t started making a deal. Well, things move pretty fast in the universe of Dominic Toretto and company and now Variety reports that he’s in negotiations to play the big bad.

While the details are still lacking, the current information points to Dom (Vin Diesel) Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) Mia (Jordana Brewster) and the rest of the high-octane team heading out once more to pull off a daring heist. So far, so standard for the Fast franchise. But this time, it appears they’ll have some competition from another team of thieves, with Evans in command.

Plus, they’ll all have to deal with attention from Dwayne Johnson’s dogged lawman Luke Hobbs, who is still in pursuit, bringing along Gina Carano.

Jason Statham was originally offered the villain role, but now Evans is the man in the frame for director Justin Lin. He’ll head to the Fast set almost immediately after finishing up his duties as Bard the Bowman on The Hobbit.

Speaking of, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is out on December 14. Fast Six will be shooting this summer, partly in the UK, and we should see it on May 24, 2013.
