American politics are not the first subject you might expect to be the inspiration for a romantic comedy. But if AOL can help Tom and Meg fall in love, then why can’t Dubya work for Anna Paquin?

X-Men’s Rogue has signed on to co-star in Blue State, a romantic comedy about a young, idealistic Democratic campaigner who promises to move to Canada if President George W Bush wins a second term in office. Marshall Lewy, who wrote the script, is directing. He got his start as a production assistant on Hollywood Ending and Washington Square and has slowly been climbing the ranks ever since.
