Though she's flirted with the movies via her roles in The People Vs Larry Flynt and the upcoming Man On the Moon, Courtney Love is still a grunge queen in the minds of many. Perhaps not for long though, as the now sleekly groomed Love is racking up her movie credits apace. Sundance recently witnessed the premiere of yet another Love pic, the William S. Burroughs biopic Beat,** **with Love as Bill's ill-fated wife, Joan Vollmer. Lest you've forgotten, Burroughs accidentally killed Joan during a drunken game of 'William Tell' (yes, Joan had the apple on her head).

Now the rock minx has a brand new project in mind, hinting that a film-only career could be imminent. She's reportedly after a part in Julie Johnson, based on the play by Wendy Hammond. Casting is already underway for the movie, with indie heroine Lili Taylor on board as Julie, a New Jersey housewife who begins a romantic relationship with her best friend after she leaves her husband. Unsurprisingly, Love after the role of best friend Claire.
