Long thrashing about the wild woods of the Internet rumour forest, the news that Justin Long will join Live Free Or Die Hard alongside Bruce Willis has finally hacked its way through the last bush of speculation to breathe the clear air of truthiness.
Yes, Long – best known for roles in Dodgeball and, more recently, The Break-Up, has been hired to star as a smart-alec who helps John McClane take down a group of terrorists who plan to rob the US of its computer infrastructure. They’ve anticipated every digital defence, but didn’t see the good, old-fashioned former NYPD ‘tec in their plans.
And recent Mission: Impossible star Maggie Q has also been announced, though she’ll play for the bad guys as a scheming computer hacker. With Len Wiseman (Underworld) at the megaphone, it’ll start shooting within a week.
