Previously labouring under the code name Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie and then rumored to be named for Andy Samberg's main character Conner4Real, we now know that the comedy troupe's latest cinematic work is called Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

The Island trio themselves – Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer – took to Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to reveal the name of the film, which will be a music industry comedy that follows a rapper as he has a crisis of confidence. After leaving a successful boyband to strike out on his own, he hits problems when his latest album tanks in the charts. Looking to remain relevant, he reunites with his old colleagues, but we're going to guess things don't go too smoothly.

With a script by the Island gang directed by Schaffer and Taccone, the new film also features Imogen Poots, Sarah Silverman, James Buckley and a host of recognizable faces from the worlds of music and comedy. It'll arrive in the US on June 3 but has yet to nail down a UK release. Still, given that this is from producer Judd Apatow and the people who bought us Hot Rod, we're hoping that changes soon.
