He made an impact on the big screen in last year's Logan, and Boyd Holbrook is aiming to work behind the scenes on a new movie as well as act in it. He'll write and star in The Thirst.
20th Century Fox, which produced Logan, is backing this one, described as an epic, world-building action thriller that Holbrook dreamed up and set in a near-future world where water has become a chronically scare commodity. So not exactly a far distance from a possible real future.
And Holbrook is clearly happy to stay in the Fox family, as he pitched studio executive Matt Reilly on the idea for the new movie while he was working on The Predator, which will be out on 13 September this year.
