Liman In The Lurch

Pitt follows Kidman in leaving Liman's latest

Doug Liman is not having a good time trying to put together his latest film, Mr and Mrs Smith. Not only did Nicole Kidman abandon the project a couple of weeks ago due to scheduling conflicts with The Stepford Wives but now Brad Pitt has thrown in the towel. Pitt's departure is apparently the result of protracted negotiations to find a replacement female lead. Catherine Zeta-Jones was said to be in talks but failure to sort things out in an expedient fashion has given Pitt cold feet and he's now left the project for pastures new. Liman may not be totally out of luck however as an offer has now gone out to the real Mr Smith (Will, that is). We'll keep our fingers crossed for you Doug.
