Now that Stephen Sommers has found the actor he wants to play the lead role in the adaptation of Dean Koontz horror-thriller bestseller Odd Thomas (that would be Anton Yelchin), he’s turned his attention to finding Thomas’ girlfriend, Stormy Llewellyn. And, according to Variety, The Blind Side**’s Lily Collins has pulled ahead of the competition in this particular casting race.

Collins has apparently beaten out the likes of Emma Roberts, Portia Doubleday, Addison Timlin and Kat Dennings, who you might have thought had a leg up thanks to proving she had chemistry with Yelchin in Charlie Bartlett.

Still, it would seem that Collins – who'll next be seen in Priest and Abduction – has snagged the part, though no final deal is done.

Koontz’ novel series finds the eponymous hero as a short-order cook who also happens to possess clairvoyant abilities. He goes from deep fryer to dead people, helping out murder victims and learning of a dark force threatening his desert hometown of Pico Mundo.

Sommers has penned the script and he plans to kick off directing the film on May 2 in New Mexico.
