Blockers

Nervy parents. Teens on the brink of sex. Emoji fear. Films have dealt with at least the first two for years, and now the third is a big part of life. Hoping to wring some comedy from the combination is the new comedy Blockers starring Leslie Mann, John Cena and Ike Barinholtz. Check out the first, appropriately Red Band trailer...

Blockers, once known as The Pact, finds the three leads as parents who have watched their daughters grow up together, secure in the knowledge that they can keep them safe in the world. But now, as prom approaches, they stumble upon a pact between the three girls to lose their virginities the night of the dance.

Determined to stop them, the parents go to outrageous lengths – if you've ever wanted to see former wrestler Cena chug beer in his rear end, this is the film for you, you weirdo – to intercede.

Pitch Perfect writer Kay Cannon steps into the director's chair for the new comedy, working from a script that has been knocked together between Brian and Jim Kehoe, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg and Eben Russell. It'll be out in the UK next April.
