Following swiftly on the heels of the announcement that Spielberg, his Dreamwork partners and Ron Howard are planning to release short movies on their new website POP.com comes the launch of LeoFest. The officially titled Leonardo DiCaprio International Online Short Film Festival aims to give short filmmakers another online presence, reports the Hollywood Reporter. 'Breaking through - especially when you're just starting out - can seem impossible,' DiCaprio says. 'This festival seeks to change that - to offer a forum, a place to show your talent.' The festival will be run by Birken Interactive Studios - the company that was set up by Leo's mum to run his website when the demands of the star's many fans got too much for her.
