The Lego Movie 2: Meet Rex Dangervest In The New Trailer

Next year, we'll be able to catch up with all of the Bricksburg-based Lego Movie pals, including Emmet (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett), Unikitty (Alison Brie) and more, as they face fresh challenges. The new trailer for The Lego Movie 2 has clicked into place.

It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.

The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.

And among the new characters we meet is Rex Dangervest (also voiced by Pratt), who appears to be a parody of some of his other famous characters, including Star-Lord, Jurassic World's Owen Grady and... an archeologist? Is Hollywood trying to tell us something? Is Harrison Ford kidnapped somewhere? Should we call Liam Neeson?

The Lego Movie 2, has the original film's directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller working on the script with Matthew Fogel, and Mike Mitchell in the director's chair. It'll be out on 8 February.
