Me, Myself and Irene, which stars Jim Carrey as a state trooper with a split personality, may have topped the US box office charts, but it's not gone down so well with mental health organisations. The Farrelly Bros-directed movie, has been advertised with the tagline 'From Gentle To Mental', accompanied by two pictures of Carrey - one smiling and one snarling. The campaign, and the film's content, have angered charities in the US and their cry has been taken up by the British National Schizophrenia Fellowship. A spokesperson said the slogan, "clearly claims that mental illness is incompatible with gentleness," and the charity has called for the film to be given an 18 certificate. The spokesman said, "We just want to make sure that people don't walk out of the cinema under potentially dangerous misconceptions."
