As part of our call for votes for the Greatest TV shows, we've seen a lot of love shown for Curb Your Enthusiasm. Of course, being a Curb fan often means being patient, especially since the last series aired back in 2011. But there is good news, as HBO has announced that Larry David will be bringing his misunderstood grouchiness back to our screens for a ninth season.

Though we don't yet know when the new season will actually hit our screens (possibly later this year, though more likely next), it's something we know people have looked forward to. Rumours swirled when co-star J.B. Smoove mentioned David having talked to him about a potential new run, and now we know why.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” says HBO programming president Casey Bloys, but the best line, as standard, goes to David himself: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

Now perhaps we can finally get that Curb and Game Of Thrones crossover where it's revealed that Larry is actually distantly related to the Starks and has some claim to the Iron Throne. Which he will, of course, find uncomfortable.
