Director tipped for Tomb Raider

Fans of the well-endowed cyber babe Lara Croft can rest assured that their heroine's big screen debut moves ever closer. Two years on since Paramount won the movie rights to the hugely successful computer game Tomb Raider, news is out that a director is about to be appointed. Scribes at Variety report that Simon West, whose recent credits include The General's Daughter and Con Air, is close to signing up for the big budget project. However a release date is some way off yet - with the script currently undergoing rewrites.
