Stanley Kubrick's forthcoming new movie may have taken longer than any other film ever to produce, but the backers of Eyes Wide Shut are delighted that it will only cost $60 million or thereabouts to make. According to the Los Angeles Times, Warner Bros co-chairman Terry Semel, was delighted that Kubrick has kept a tight rein on finances, claiming that a Hollywood-type production with a major star like Tom Cruise and a world-class director like Stanley Kubrick would have cost someone else $80 million or $90 million.
