It's been a while since we've heard much about the planned reunion of Bridesmaids co-writers (and star/cameo appearance) Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo for new comedy Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar. We now, though, have a teaser for the film, which the titular characters are keen to give away as little as possible.
We still don't know an awful lot about the movie's story yet, but the trailer (and the official synopsis) do offer something... Lifelong friends Barb (Mumolo) and Star (Wiig) embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time... ever. Romance, friendship and a villain’s evil plot are all afoot when they arrive at their destination.
Yeah, it's not a lot, but that's something to go on. With Josh Greenbaum in the director's chair, the cast also includes Jamie Dornan, Damon Wayans Jr., Michael Hitchcock, Tom Lenk and what looks to be a big break for young Reyn Doi, who is something of a star in this teaser.
Barb & Star will be out for digital rental in the US on 12 February and is still pencilled in for a July release here.
