**Crazy, Stupid, Love **directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa might have been disappointed not to have lured that film’s Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling to star in their latest, Focus. But they can comfort themselves in the knowledge that Ben Affleck and now Kristen Stewart are in talks for the leads.

Focus, which the directing pair co-wrote, finds Affleck as an experienced con man who teams up with an eager young newcomer to the grift (Stewart).

The pair becomes involved, but the lying and cheating inherent in their scams means they can never quite trust each other and the relationship implodes.

Still, that’s not the end of the story: the two meet up again further down the line, and we expect there will be ramifications.

Warner Bros. is backing the film, which should begin shooting next year assuming all the deals work out. Stewart most recently appeared in On The Road and will next crop up in the big Twilight finale, Breaking Dawn - Part 2, which arrives on November 16. Affleck’s excellent Argo hits UK screens this Wednesday, November 7, and he’ll also be seen in Runner, Runner and Terrence Malick’s To The Wonder (unless he’s been edited out, of course).
