Klein Signs On For American Reunion

If you were lying awake at night, driven half mad by the idea that Chris Klein might not actually agree to sign up for American Reunion, the potentially Oscar-winning film aiming to bring the American Pie cast back together, then panic no more. We have the cooling wet cloth of casting news for your fevered brow: Klein has confirmed that he’s on board. Let joy be unconfirmed! Er… Unconfined!

Yes, ‘tis true: The man formerly and now future-ly known as Chris “Oz” Ostreicher is set to return, according to his representatives, who spoke to People Magazine (as spotted by the eagle-eyed Klein fanatics at Latino Review).

Reunion, of course, will feature a chunk of the original Pie people, with Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Alyson Hannigan all now locked in place, alongside franchise veteran Eugene Levy, who has ridden the comedy horse all the way through the straight-to-DVD spin-off films.

This time around, though, Universal has big screen hopes, with Harold & Kumar creators Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg crafting an undoubtedly genius script, which will find the old gang back together, and Jim (Biggs) and Michelle (Hannigan) wondering about the next step on the road of life.

But now that Klein is locked in, attention must naturally turn to the other, vitally important actors such as Thomas Ian Nicholas, Mena Suvari and Tara Reid. How will humanity's troubled souls be able to find rest when Tara Reid is still out there negotiating to join the film! How?
