Ali G holds court in Leicester Square

If the crowds gathered outside the Empire Leicester Square last night thought the cardboard cut-out of on the side of the cinema was larger than life, nothing could have prepared them for the arrival of the man himself. Arriving for the premiere of Ali G InDaHouse amid an almost regal procession, Staines' best-loved son swept from his limo wearing an ermine-collared gown and a jewel encrusted crown. His train carried by five scantily clad body servants with marijuana leaves covering their nether regions, Ali G gave magnanimous waves to supporters - many waving placards emblazoned with 'Vote Ali G' - as his new single 'Me Julie' thundered from loudspeakers. In an entrance that could put even the highest ranking Hollywood star to shame, Ali G explained his evening's attire to reporters. "I is wearin' some normal street-wear that you might see in, like, Windsor, in that kind of area." Bumping fists and giving much respect to Empire Online, Ali confided "For real. I picked this up in a second-hand store, in an Oxfam in Windsor." Ali G's first big screen performance sees the spokesman for the Staines Massive being elected as local MP for his hometown. In a bid to bring some street cred to the House of Commons, Ali soon realises he could do a genuine service to his country were he to get into Downing Street - mainly by legalising lots of drugs and availing himself of all the 'class A booty' he can get his hands on. "Me just want to say that even if dis film is too late for de Oscars, I is hopin' to get Best Male, I is hopin' to get Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenwriting and Best Female - if de information I has got about de warehouse dey is kept in is right." Accompanied by co-stars Michael Gambon, Kelly Bright, Rhona Mitra, Charles Dance and Martin Freeman as well as co-writer Dan Mazer and supermodel Naomi Campbell, Ali G went down a storm will all present. But, after conquering both the television and movie worlds, what could possibly be next for the irrepressible star? "Well, I is hopin' to do my theme park which is openin' soon. It will 'ave a boyakasha ride, it will have the punani-mobile and it will have one of them slides that goes into a batty hole." Respect!
