Kim Basinger has joined Zac Efron and Burr Steers’ sombre follow-up to 17 Again, The Death And Life Of Charlie St. Cloud.
The Oscar-winning actress will play the mother of Efron’s eponymous character, who feels responsible for his brother’s death. In a supernatural twist, said brother, Sam, appears to Charlie in ghostly form every week at the cemetery where Charlie works.
The young actor, Charlie Tahan will play Sam in a movie that feels a dozen times removed from the jolly spirit of 17 Again – but we’ll wait and see what Steers, who has taken a pass at Craig Pearce’s script, has up his sleeve this time around.
