Kevin Spacey and Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto have committed to star in Margin Call, which is now being sold at the Cannes Film Festival.

According to Deadline, Quinto is also producing the pic, which will follow eight people working at a large investment bank as the financial crisis hits the US. In a busy, chaotic 24 hours, the various characters, including Quinto and Spacey’s banking types, must try to keep their careers are fortunes are lost around them. We can imagine the drama and pathos right now: will they still have yachts at the end of the day? Will they be able to trade in the Masserati this year?

JC Chandor, who got his start as a sound recordist on documentary shorts, will make the film his directing debut and wrote the script. He’ll kick off shooting this summer in New York.
