Last week, Kevin Smith tweeted that his latest - the film formerly known as A Couple Of Dicks - had a new, advert-friendly title. And now it looks like we know what it is: Cop Out.
Yes, after a little digging by The Film Stage, the leak has come not directly from Warners, but from the studio's exhibitor website and its list of trailers that are scheduled to run with Sherlock Holmes. Cop Out was among them.
And just which film did Smith mention we could expect the new movie's trailer to be attached to across the pond? None other than Robert Downey Jr's detective adventure.
As if to solidify the name - which, let's face it, could still be a code, though all the other titles listed as having trailers are real - Smith gave this less-than cryptic response to a recent tweet sent by a follower: "They're not going with A Couple Of Dicks? That's such a cop-out" Hm. Has a nice ring to it...
It has yet to be officially confirmed, but we wouldn't blame Smith fans to marking the new name down in permanent marker. Just don't sniff the pen - you'll end up seeing things.
