Way back in the distant mists of last July, we reported that Hugh Jackman was lining up a new comedy called **Avon Man. Now it looks like the project is taking a step closer to our doors, with Enchanted’s Kevin Lima considering the director’s chair.
Avon Man, written by Hitch’s Kevin Bisch, finds Jackman as a car dealer feeling the recession’s pinch as he’s laid off from his job. To make ends meet, he takes up the task of selling make-up door to door for the famous cosmetics hawkers. Can you imagine the trade boost when Hugh Jackman turns up on the doorstep?
If Lima does land the megaphone job, it should see the film shoved into production later this year, once Jackman is done with robo-boxing tale Real Steel.
