Recently busy on the small screen with The Following and the developing reimagining of Tremors, Kevin Bacon is set to sign up for yet another series. He's in talks for the Amazon TV pilot I Love Dick, based on the sex comedy novel by Chris Kraus.

The show would see Bacon as a charismatic university lecturer in a "colourful" Texan academic community. When a couple with marital problems, Chris and Sylvere, develop an obsession with "cowboy intellectual / sexy silver fox" Professor Dick, he has to reluctantly deal with their intense attention, initially treating it as game until it evolves into a new form of philosophy. Kathryn Hahn is already aboard to play Chris.

Transparent's Jill Soloway is producing and directing this one, from a screenplay by playwrite Sarah Gubbins. As with all Amazon shows, the popularity of the pilot episode will be gauged before the decision to go to a full series is made.
