Guillermo del Toro casting Ron Perlman in something isn't exactly big surprising news; in fact, it could probably fall under the category of "virtual inevitability." Still, the actor, Kelsey Grammer and Anton Yelchin are all in the cast for the director's new animated series Trollhunters.

We got a look at Trollhunters, which will be arriving via DreamWorks Animation and Netflix later this year, back in April. This latest announcement brings with it a little more detail about the plot and main characters. The show is set in the fictional suburb of Arcadia, where young Jim (Yelchin) and his best mates discover that beneath the seemingly ordinary town lurks a hidden battle between good and evil troll forces, with ramifications for their lives and everyone around then.

Grammer is voicing Blinky, a good-natured troll who becomes a friend and ally to Jim. Perlman, on the other hand, will in snarly, boo-hiss villain mode as Bular, a sinister type always spoiling for a fight. Trollhunters will be out on Netflix in December. Those after more Grammer action can check out the recent Empire Podcast below, where he hosted the man to talk about his career.
