You may not have seen comedian Mike Birbiglia’s first film, Sleepwalk With Me, but chances are you’ll recognise him from guest roles in Trainwreck, The Fault In Our Stars or the most recent season of Orange Is The New Black. He has a new film in the works, Don't Think Twice, and Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs, Kate Micucci, Tami Sagher and Chris Gethard are starring in it{ =nofollow}.

In addition to writing the script and calling the shots, Birbiglia will co-star in the film, which details what happens when an improv comedy group loses the lease on its theatre base of operations at the same time that one of its number is chosen for the cast of a Saturday Night Live-style sketch comedy on TV, a huge break. The comedy drama explores the bitterness and back-stabbing that erupts between the close-knit unit of friends when one of them looks more likely to succeed than the rest. Like Sleepwalk, it’ll draw on Birbiglia’s own experiences, though perhaps not ones as painfully personal as his first movie. He’s just started shooting the film in New York.

Key is best known as half of sketch comedy duo Key and Peele, who recently shot the last episodes in their eponymous show, on air now across the pond. He was also in Vacation, will be heard in Hotel Transylvania 2 and next year’s Angry Birds film and is shooting cat-napping comedy Keanu with Peele. Jacobs was part of the cast of Community and has worked on No Way Jose, the directorial debut of Adam Goldberg. Micucci regularly appears with Riki Lindhome as comedy music group Garfunkel & Oates and will star in rom-com Unleashed next year.
