Back in February, Eli Roth announced that he would next make suburban thriller pic **Knock, Knock. With production set to kick off this month, he has gathered a cast that includes Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izzo, Ana de Armas, Ignacia Allamand, Coleen Camp and Aaron Burns.

While it’s not strictly a horror movie, it’s the closest Reeves has come to the genre in a long time: though Constantine had some scary elements, it was more of a supernatural superhero film and you have to stretch all the way back to Dracula for real horror (hold the jokes about Reeves’ accent, please). But he’s clearly ready to give something more scaresome a try, agreeing to star in and executive produce the movie that Roth wrote alongside Aftershock/Green Inferno collaborators Guillermo Amoedo and Nicolas Lopez.

Knock, Knock finds Reeves as a seemingly happily married man living with his wife (Allamand) when two beautiful young women (Izzo and Armas) show up. They seduce him and end up wrecking his perfect life. Camp (who is also on as a producer) and Burns are supporting characters, but their roles haven’t been revealed.

“I had a window before I promote** Green Inferno**, and I wanted to make a movie like Roman Polanski or Paul Verhoeven made when they were young, a classic psychosexual thriller that’s not a horror movie, but would have everyone on the edge of their seats,” Roth tells Deadline. “Getting Keanu is amazing, he’s a fine actor who is perfect for this. I feel I can have this movie ready for Toronto if I need to, and he’s catching a plane tomorrow and we’ll be fitting him for wardrobe right away.”

With a sub-$10 million budget to work with, Roth will be shooting in Chile. Reeves, meanwhile, will next be seen in action thriller John Wick.
