Kate Winslet To Wed

Titanic star, Kate Winslet plans to marry her 24-year-old fella, Jim Threapleton, it has been announced. The Oscar-nominated British actress has been secretly engaged since last summer, ever since the assistant film director slipped a simple white gold ring with tiny diamonds on her finger. The couple met, according to The Mirror, a year ago in Morocco, where Kate was starring in the upcoming drama Hideous Kinky, in which she plays a free-spirited mother of two little girls. The lovebirds, who reckon it was love at first sight, apparently plan to tie the knot next summer, but plan to keep the details a secret. Last week Kate reacted angrily to being dubbed 'Body of the Year' in a recent poll. She told Clive Anderson on his All Talk TV show that she finds the whole thing "a little bit irritating" and questioned the media's obsession with women's bodies, particularly actresses. Explaining her ever-changing figure, she said: "I'm a normal human being, and we all go up and down. The weight stuff that goes on in the papers just makes me ill because there are so many young girls out there whose minds are being so messed up by this, and I just think it is upsetting and it should just stop."
