Kate Mara in Morgan

If Ex Machina taught us anything, it's that making sentient artificial beings is usually not a good idea, no matter how much we might hope for an AI dance partner. Couple that with the disturbing humming trope and you have the recipe for terror with Morgan. Check out Kate Mara and her co-stars discovering that in the first teaser for the film...

Morgan, directed by Ridley Scott's son Jake, finds Mara as a corporate troubleshooter sent to a remote, top secret lab location, where her assignment is to investigate what seems to be a troubling accident. But when she arrives, she discovers that the incident has been trigged by a seemingly innocent, human-seeming being, who holds both a promise for the future of technology and an incalculable danger.

Yes, it probably wouldn't be much fun to simply watch Mara fill out paperwork and interview people, so instead when get what has the makings of a chilling thriller that also features Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Anya Taylor-Joy and Paul Giamatti.

Morgan will be out this year.
