CBGB co-writer / director Randall Miller continues to stuff his film full of actors. Though the cast list is already bulging with a blend of big-name and indie talent, he’s added another, with The Hangover’s Justin Bartha signed to play Stiv Bators.

The film charts the birth and rise of the legendary New York music spot, which spawned the likes of the Dead Boys, Blondie, the Ramones and Television.

Alan Rickman is leading the cast as CBGB founder Hilly Kristal with Ashley Greene as his daughter. Malin Akerman, Rupert Grint, Johnny Galecki, Taylor Hawkins, Stana Katic, Joel David Moore, Estelle Harris and Kerry Bishe are all aboard playing various real life music folk (and, in the case of Harris, Kristal’s mother, Bertha).

Bartha will be Stiv Bators, the lead singer of the Dead Boys, who died in 1990.

Miller starts everything rolling next month in Georgia before shifting to New York to complete filming. There’s no word yet on when we’ll see the finished product, though we’d expect it to be damaging cinema sound systems some time next year.
