Jurassic World Dominion

Shooting on the third film in the Jurassic World trilogy is – like pretty much every major production right now – on hold due to the continuing Coronavirus pandemic. But that hasn’t stopped filmmaker Colin Trevorrow from sharing a snowy behind-the-scenes snap from the first part of Jurassic World: Dominion’s shoot, which took place before the lockdown and brought the dino franchise into a new environment: the snow. Here's hoping Blue has a ski jacket. The new production photo, shared on Twitter, sees Trevorrow huddled behind a monitor in a chilly landscape – take a look below.

As for what’s on the monitor, it seems that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom character Maisie Lockwood, played by Isabella Sermon, is back in the fray for the third entry. The ‘daughter’ of InGen co-founder Benjamin Lockwood, she was – SPOILER ALERT – revealed in the final reel of Fallen Kingdom to be a human clone, and made the ultimate (and evidently foolhardy) decision to save the remaining cloned dinosaurs from suffocation, even though it meant releasing them into the wilds of mainland California. It looks like she’ll be facing up to the consequences of those actions, which are set to be the focus of Dominion.

Months back, when the shoot was first gearing up, franchise star Chris Pratt teased that Dominion would be the ‘Endgame’ of the Jurassic series – with original Park stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern all confirmed to be back in major roles. “It’s got everybody,” Pratt said on Ellen. “It feels kind of like Endgame. It’s got pretty much everybody in it. Maybe I just blew it, but I don’t care. I know that all the cast from the original Jurassic Park is coming back, and it’s going to feel very much like how Endgame brought everything together with Marvel.” Here’s hoping it won’t be too long before Mr. Arnold can get Jurassic World back in business.
