Mark Millar has made something of a speciality of tweaking superhero tropes, especially via the likes of Kick-Ass. With Jupiter's Legacy, he takes more of a Watchmen-style approach, looking at the attempts of a new generation to shoulder the mantle of heroes from one that had its own issues. The full trailer for the Netflix series adaptation is now online.

With Sang Kyu Kim running the show alongside such genre names as Steven S. DeKnight and Brian and Mark Gunn, the world of Jupiter's Legacy features the culture clash of older and younger powered people. After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world's first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents' legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards.

The cast includes Josh Duhamel, Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, Matt Lanter and Ian Quinlan, and the first eight episodes of the show land on Netflix on 7 May.
