The four-day Martin Luther King holiday in the States saw little change in the box office charts despite some new arrivals. So it was left to Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle to stay atop the list as it rounded its fourth week on release. The movie earned $27 million, according to studio estimates.

Expanding out into a much wider release (adding a whopping 2,783 screens), Steven Spielberg's The Post leapt into the top 10 at second, making $18.6 million in the process. The movie has now earned a little over $23 million in total in the US.

You have to reach third place before you find one of the actual new releases, as Liam Neeson powered through another action pic with The Commuter. His latest collaboration with director Jaume Collet-Serra launched with $13.4 million. Insidious: The Last Key dropped from second to fourth on $12.1 million, and the horror has taken in $48.3 million in the US, which makes it a success given the typically thrifty Blumhouse $10 million budget.

Rounding out the top five is The Greatest Showman, dropping one place with $11.8 million.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi fell a few places to sixth via $11.2 million as it crawls towards $600 million in the States alone. At seventh, Paddington 2 arrived, earning $10.6 million, meaning that it has already taken $135.8 million worldwide. Also entering the charts was Taraji P. Henson thriller Proud Mary, which has battled some negative reviews and made $10 million.

Pitch Perfect 3 was down to ninth with $5.6 million, while Darkest Hour dropped to 10th, earning $4.5 million as it prepared to leave the top 10.
