Golden-voiced** Julie Andrews**, queen of the musical and everyone's favourite singing nun, has decided to sue New York's Mount Sinai hospital and two of its surgeons after an operation caused her to lose her voice. Andrews had the operation a year ago to remove benign nodules from her vocal chords which were interfering with her singing voice.

But instead of bringing her voice back to its optimum pitch, the procedure left Andrews unable to sing at all. Shortly afterwards Andrew's then partner Blake Edwards told Parade magazine, "I don't think she'll sing again. It's an absolute tragedy." Explaining her decision to decision to sue the hospital, Andrews said, "Singing has been a cherished gift, and my inability to sing has been a devastating blow."
