Julia Roberts Might Be The Evil Queen

When was the last time you saw Julia Roberts bring truly evil on screen? We don’t mean slightly naughty, or catty, but pure, vanity-obsessed, rip-the-heart-out-of-an-innocent-girl cruel? Bet you can’t think of a single example. But now it looks like she’ll get her chance as, after weeks of rumours about the idea, Vulture has heard that she’s in negotiations to join the cast of Tarsem Singh’s **The Brothers Grimm: Snow White as the Evil Queen.

Naturally, things are still in the relatively tentative, could-fall-apart-over-gross-points stage, but production company Relativity Media and Singh are ready to offer her a solid deal for the role, which would see her plotting to kill Snow White when her magic mirror informs her that she’s no longer the fairest of them all. Singh is setting the film up to shoot in 3D, and that **Brothers Grimm **tag signifies that Relativity could be looking at making a series of fairytale adventures if this one works out. Having Julia Roberts aboard would almost certainly increase the chances of that – and who wouldn’t want to see the woman who usually plays nice on screen get maniacal?

Plus, the movie will need the star power boost if it’s to compete with the approximately 700 other Snow White-based films now racing through the scary dark woods of development…
