Wong Kar Wai, heretofore known for his Chinese films such as In The Mood For Love and 2046, has decided to take his first crack at an English language movie.

He’ll direct My Blueberry Nights, a romantic comedy about a young woman seeking the true meaning of love on a road trip across America, who meets odd characters along the way.

And he has a cast signed up already. Singer Norah Jones, who has appeared as herself in Two Weeks Notice, will star alongside slightly more experienced types such as Jude Law, Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman.

As soon as Wai finishes up his duties as the jury president at this year’s Cannes festival, he’ll start pre-production and plans to shoot across the US this summer, once Blueberry is in the can, he’ll move on to The Lady From Shanghai, starring Nicole Kidman, next year.
