The re-do of 1986 romantic comedy drama About Last Night – itself adapted from David Mamet’s 1974 play Sexual Perversity In Chicago – has just locked in its final lead piece. Joy Bryant is stepping in to play the new version of the character originally played on screen by Demi Moore.

Steve Pink is directing the movie, which is apparently in the process of selecting a new title and will see its setting relocated to Los Angeles from the Chicago original.

Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy and Regina King are aboard to take the roles originated by Rob Lowe, James Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins in the tale of a couple who start a relationship, but have trouble from their disapproving, interfering best friends.

Leslye Headland is behind the new version of the script, and Pink aims to be shooting this autumn.

Bryant is normally found acting opposite Dax Shepard in US TV drama Parenthood, and will next be seen on the big screen as part of the cast of comedy pic Hit And Run.
