And so begins the drip feed. Just yesterday, Optimus Prime and his robotic chums arrived on Instagram to pimp their latest film, the fifth instalment in Michael Bay's Transformers franchise that is now known as Transformers: The Last Knight. Today comes the announcement that Josh Duhamel will be returning to the movies.

Duhamel worked on the first three films, playing Lieutenant Colonel Lennox and he's boarded the new one, which will feature Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yeager in his latest appearance after 2014's Age Of Extinction.

Bay – who welcomed Duhamel back via Twitter – will begin shouting on set next month, but the actual story for the film remains locked away. Still, we can predict certain things: lots of robot-on-robot violence, some shiny new vehicles, a few extra characters and probably someone who looks like they just stepped out of a Victoria's Secret ad.

Transformers: The Last Knight is due to hit our screens on June 23 next year.
