The last time The Wackness' director Jonathan Levine tackled horror, it was with** All The Boys Love Mandy Lane**, which took ages to finally see the light of day. He'll be hoping for some better luck with Warm Bodies, which, if he pulls it off, could be another strong contender for America's Shaun Of The Dead.
Levine is planning to write an direct a version of Isaac Marion's unreleased book, which itself was adapted from his short story, I Am A Zombie Filled With Love. Summit Entertainment - yes, the Twilight people - are developing the film.
There's not a lot of plot detail yet (especially since Levine has, according to the folk at The Playlist, only just begun to write the script) but the story roughly follows a zombie who falls in love with his latest victim's girlfriend and chronicles his experiences of love in a post-apocalyptic world.You can read it online, if you want to get a taste. We'll have to, though, as A) it could all fall through before it even gets going and B) Levine is currently busy preparing to shoot the comedy formerly known as I'm With Cancer, starring James McAvoy and Seth Rogen.
