Continuing its efforts to keep pumping out shows and films for all the family, Netflix has announced the cast for book adaptation Lost Ollie, which feels like a throwback to kids' films of old despite featuring some cutting-edge effects. Jonathan Groff, Gina Rodriguez, Jake Johnson, Mary J. Blige and Tim Blake Nelson are among the cast.
Writer and Laika Entertainment veteran Shannon Tindle is working with Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse director Peter Ramsey to adapt William Joyce's Ollie's Odyssey. It's the story of a lost toy on an epic adventure, searching across the country for the boy who lost him, and the story of the boy who lost more than a best friend. A heartwarming journey to reunite in the face of all the dangers that childhood can throw at them...

Groff will voice Ollie, while Rodriguez is Momma, the mother of Billy (Kesler Talbot) who bonds with Ollie. Blige is on to voice Rosy, a raggedy teddy bear, with Johnson as Billy's father Daddy and Nelson playing gentlemen clown Zozo.
Lost Ollie is planned as a four-episode limited series, with work on the film underway in Vancouver. Netflix has yet to announce a release date.
