It's a big day for superhero... Well, we're not sure we'd exactly label it news, but some speculation. On the heels of word that Henry Cavill's future as Superman with the DC Universe is looking increasingly uncertain comes a snippet of an interview with Jon Hamm, who says he'd be open to playing Batman.

To be clear, this is simply the artist formerly known as Don Draper talking about how he'd be interested in the idea, not that any official conversations have happened or are in the offing. Talking on web series In Depth With Graham Bensinger (as found by The Hollywood Reporter), Hamm covers the fact that he's been one of the tipped choices online since his Mad Men days.

"I have had rumors about that since probably season one of Mad Men," he says. "I have never had a conversation with anybody about it, literally. And I've sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the internet."

"It depends on the script, what the story is," he continues. "I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I've read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I'm pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they're done well."

So, if called to the cowl, would he serve? He's upbeat about the concept. "I'd probably fit the suit. I'd have to work out a lot, which I don't love. But, I am sure there's an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?"

For now, Warner Bros. is making no official announcements about the Bat-future. Ben Affleck has been the incumbent in the dual role of Bruce Wayne and Batman since Dawn Of Justice, but his future appears to be up in the air as Matt Reeves moves forward with his own vision of the caped crusader that may or may not include the current actor.
