According to the American press, there are two real stars in Tomb Raider and they're both 36D. The film, which was premiered last night in LA has had some mixed reviews - but it's clear that much of the audience appreciation was for the newly-voluptuous Angelina Jolie. Jolie herself has made it clear that she was willing to go all out for the film, undergoing an intensive exercise and training regime prior to filming. But what the male cinemagoing crowd are wondering is how she achieved the, er, fulsome effect in the T-shirt department. 'I was too much of a gentleman to ask how she enhanced them,' director Simon West told US columnist Anderson Jones. 'Angelina's not unvoluptuous anyway. I shot two shower scenes with her, so I can vouch for that fact.' But West does admit to being slightly obsessed with all things mammary. 'Most of the time was spent discussing the breasts. They're a complete part of Lara's persona. There was a big discussion about cleavage. We all decided cleavage was tacky. And, yes, she was large, but they had to look real, and they shouldn't stick out like torpedoes. They would fall in a realistic-gravity way.' UK fans will have to wait until the film is released on 6 July 2001 to make their own gravity assessment.
