Johnny Knoxville On For Scout Comedy

To look at them, you might not think that Johnny Knoxville and Patton Oswalt would be brothers. But that’s exactly what writer/director Todd Rohal is hoping you’ll buy, as he’s cast them to play warring siblings in his new, currently untitled scout comedy.

Knoxville, still best known for the madcap antics of the Jackass crew and Oswalt, last seen in The Informant! and soon to crop up in Jason Reitman’s Young Adult, will play brothers endlessly vying for the attention of their father. When poor old pop starts to get sick, the pressure becomes even more intense as the two men compete to see who can be the best leader when they take a troop of boys on a camping expedition. Naturally, it all goes comically awry.

And they’re not the only ones aboard, as Rob Riggle, Maura Tierney and Patrice O’Neal are also signing on to co-star. Rohal wrote the script and originally called it Scout Master. There’s no word on what it’ll eventually be named, but it kicks off shooting this week.
